4th GRADE MONDAY LETTER WEEK #35:
May 21st- May 25th
1. Explorer Project Update: At this point, the 4th graders have completed the majority of their research for their Explorer Project. We are now working on producing the documents that will comprise their actual “Explorer Project”. The majority of this work will be initiated in school and then sent home as HW to put the “finishing touches” on and reread/edit. If your child is working on this at home, it would be very helpful if you read over his/her work as if you are a museum visitor who knows nothing about the explorer. This will ensure that the work is complete and accurate.
2. No School Monday, May 28th: There will be no school on Monday, May 28th due to the Memorial Day holiday. If you are planning on leaving early for the long weekend, please let your child’s teacher know ahead of time. Also, as we approach the end of the year, if you are planning on leaving early for vacation or camp and your child will miss days at the end of the year, please inform your child’s teacher of your travel plans.
3. Living History Museum: As a reminder, the 4th grade Living History Museum is Wednesday, June 13th from 8:00- 8:30am. This is a wonderful time for you to see all the hard work the 4th graders have put into their Explorer Projects. You will be able to ask the explorers questions about their amazing journeys that changed the course of history. We hope everyone will be able to attend! Please let your child’s teacher know if nobody from your family (parent, sibling, cousin, etc.) will be able to attend, as we will line up another teacher or specialist to come and visit that student so that every student has a visitor.
